The good news are that the Municipality of Tavira has reduced IMI for next year by 2.5% from
the rate of the evaluated buildings under CIMI from 0.40% to 0.39%. For rural buildings the rate
will be 0.80%.
In addition to this reduction in IMI tax rate for all buildings, the Tavira Municipality has also
cumulatively adopted the Family IMI, with a reduction of set rates according to the number of
dependents on the referred household , therefore:
– 10% for households with a dependent,
– 15% for households with two dependents and
– 20% for units with three or more dependents.
The reduction of IMI tax rate will automatically be applied and without the need to submit any
documents, this measure aims to contribute to family support helping reducing the family
expenses.
